Class Z – Airbrake Course
Anyone who drives a vehicle fitted with an air brake system or an air-over-hydraulic brake system is required to have a Z endorsement on his or her driver’s licence.
T.Dot Truck Driving School hosts the Ontario Safety League’s 12 Hour Air Brake course every weekend (excluding holidays). Mid-week courses can be made available as well.
In order to qualify to attend one of our courses, the student must possess a valid G-class or higher Ontario Driver’s License.
HOW LONG IS THE COURSE AND WHAT DOES IT COST?
The following is included in the course fees:
- OSL Air Brake Endorsement Manual
- Minimum 12 hours of in-class instruction
- Two attempts of a Written Test
- Two attempts of a Practical Test
- Receipt of Air Brake Endorsement Certificate once both Written and Practical Test results are successful
WHAT WILL I GRADUATE WITH?
Once you have successfully completed the endorsement course, you will receive a referral envelope. Present this envelope to a DriveTest Centre within 6 months to add the Z endorsement to your licence.
WHAT DO I NEED BEFORE I CAN BEGIN?
- Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ License or higher
- Knowledge verification of Rules of the Road and Signs. Handbook and materials provided to help in passing the knowledge tests.
- MTO approved Medical Form completed

Upon registration students will receive a confirmation email confirming enrollment and username and password to access our online portal to manage your schedule and payment.
